WELCOME TO MY SITE!
Hi! My name is Sabrina Diem and I am so excited you are visiting my website! I invite you to look around and find out more about me and what God is doing in my life. I am 17 years old and I live in a small, rural town in South Georgia called Americus. I live with my mom and dad and four siblings (3 brothers and a sister). We attend Cornerstone Church, where I have the most amazing youth group. We are a close knit group led by an awesome youth leader, Gabe Theiss. I am surrounded by other supportive team leaders who encourage me and help me grow in my faith.
This summer (June 2013), God provided the opportunity for me and 17 other youth members and adult chaperones to travel to the Dominican Republic. We partnered with an organization called YWAM (Youth With A Mission) and were a part of a VBS Style Ministry called Mission Adventures. We were only there for 7 days, but what God did in us, through us, and around us was an amazing thing to be a part of. Our time was filled with prayer and devotions, worship, training, and service. In all, we reached out to 5 communities in the San Pedro area where we sang, danced, performed skits, taught bible verses in Spanish, and made sheep faces with paper plates and cotton balls. Who knew God could use paper plates and cotton balls to spread His Word! How amazing is that? I had the opportunity to not only minister to young, impoverished children and some adults, but through that time, our team was greatly blessed and encouraged in our own walk with God. I learned about my Identity in Christ from some amazing young missionaries who reached out to us in our devotion and worship time together. Through that, I know that God has a promise and a purpose for my life. While I was there, I felt God call me to a deeper walk with Him and I feel Him calling me to Missions. The longer I was there, the more I understood what God was telling me.
When I came home from the DR, I felt so homesick; like a feeling in the pit of my stomach that wouldn't go away. I talked with my family and friends, pastors and church about what God was laying on my heart. So where has this led me? I have been called back to the Dominican Republic to attend Discipleship Training School (DTS). This is a 5 month intensive training course, which aims to equip and train students for a lifetime of Christ-centered service. The core theme of the school is "To know God and make Him known". To learn more about YWAM and DTS, please click on the link above. I am scheduled to leave September 19, 2013 and I could use your support. Please check out my page and keep returning often, as I will be blogging about my journey of faith! Thank you for your prayers and encouragement! I feel so blessed to have you along!
